Dee Morikawa holds an associate degree in accounting from Kauaʻi Community College and attended Kapa'a High School and Kahuku High School. Early in their career, Morikawa worked within Kaua‘i's Department of Parks & Recreation and engaged in numerous community projects. They have also coached youth and high school sports. Morikawa has served in the Hawai‘i State House of Representatives since 2011, holding various leadership roles, including Chair of the Human Services Committee and Vice Chair of the Health Committee. They have been a House Majority Floor Leader since 2018 and serve on multiple House Committees.
