Personal Background

Kevin Hensley holds a robust background in public service and education. He has served as a Legislative Assistant for a U.S. Senator and has been elected to the Delaware House of Representatives. Hensley has been actively involved in educational initiatives, including founding a charter school and serving on a local school board. His professional expertise encompasses a range of legislative committees, particularly those focused on education, economic development, and public safety. Hensley has also demonstrated a commitment to the intellectual/developmental disabilities community through advocacy and support for related nonprofit organizations.

Political Ideas

Kevin Hensley's political identity is marked by a nuanced blend of local advocacy and legislative pragmatism, particularly in education and support for individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities. Despite a legal setback in 2025, his commitment to securing state funding for school safety and IDD care underscores a calculated approach to regional needs. Hensley’s involvement in both charter schools and nonprofit support for the IDD community reveals an unexpected convergence of educational and social policy interests, prompting deeper inquiry into how he balances these priorities.
