Personal Background

Steve Buyer holds a Bachelor of Science in business administration and management and a Juris Doctor. He served on active duty in the U.S. Army and later in the U.S. Army Reserve, achieving the rank of colonel. Before entering politics, Buyer worked as a state deputy attorney general. He has held leadership roles in various sectors, including founding The Frontier Foundation, which aimed to fund scholarships. Despite legal challenges and a conviction for insider trading, Buyer was later pardoned.

Political Ideas

Steve Buyer's political identity is marked by a unique blend of military service and advocacy for small businesses, coupled with an unusual approach to environmental regulation. He balances support for environmental protection with a strong emphasis on economic growth, a stance that often places him at odds with traditional environmentalists. His involvement with The Frontier Foundation, which despite its closure, highlights an intriguing tension between his public advocacy for educational funding and the ethical controversies surrounding its operations. This duality in Buyer's approach invites deeper inquiry into how he reconciles these seemingly conflicting priorities.
